How often do you feel like you’re not living life in line with your true self?
This is where Shamanic Breathwork can be a game-changer.
Shamanic Breathwork is a form of breathwork that helps you let go of what isn’t serving you. It’s one of the quickest ways to “get out” of your current state of mind and reconnect with your inner self. Any limiting beliefs or conditioning that is holding you back right now can be overcome so that you can be the person you are truly meant to be.
Trauma and old wounds can be released as part of this journey. As you tap into the power of deep connected breathing, you can explore and transform parts of yourself that can otherwise be very difficult to reach. It’s also a wonderful tool for reconnecting with your passion and purpose and supports you to live your authentic truth.
It’s a hugely empowering form of breathwork but it’s very much a journey. To get the most from Shamanic Breathwork, you need to be prepared to dive deep into your soul and look at past issues that are still affecting you. Being able to move past these issues is crucial for empowering yourself to cope with whatever life throws at you.
Its believed that this type of breath can help you unlock your full potential. Through different manipulations of your breath, you can change your state of consciousness and alter the way you deal with stress.
Your personal Shamanic Breathwork journey can be highly unique. You may receive a specific form of energy, release long-standing negative emotions and energy, or find parts of yourself that had seemed lost. No two Shamanic Breathwork journeys are experienced in the same way.
Where will your journey take you?
If you have trouble staying in the present moment and tapping into your inner wisdom, Viviation Breathwork is a great move.
This may be a type of breathwork that you’re totally unfamiliar with right now but it’s a perfect fit for balancing emotions and taking the benefits of meditation to a whole other level.
So let’s dive into what it is and what it can do for you…
Viviation Breathwork is a combination of long breathing techniques and focused attention that can support healing on various levels.
It can help you resolve negative emotions, trauma, and stress. It can also encourage you to feel more energized and able to live the life you are meant for.
This type of breathwork uses circular breathing, which has no pauses between your in-breaths and your out-breaths.
Viviation can help you use your breath in different ways to feel in control of any situation and to promote a strong sense of wellbeing.
During Viviation sessions, you can learn how to control your breath and use it to relax and focus your attention. But Viviation isn’t simply meditation. All judgment is suspended when it comes to your thoughts and this leads to feelings of inner bliss.
A key part of the benefits comes from the ability to connect with your feelings and emotions on a physical level, which can remove negative thoughts about those emotions. It can be surprisingly quick to move from feelings of pain, sadness, and other negative emotions to feelings of inner happiness and wellbeing by using Viviation consistently. And even better, those feelings can be permanent!
How cool is that?
Do you wish that you had go-to tools for bringing your mind and body back into balance during periods of stress?
With Transformation Breath®, you can do just that.
The Transformation Breath® style of breathwork is all about connecting mind, body, and soul. More specifically, it helps you see the link between the emotions you experience and your physical body.
When you harness the power of Transformation Breath®, you can tap into your body’s natural self-healing abilities and balance emotional and physical wellbeing. This can improve your energy levels, boost immunity and cope with stress in a healthier and more positive way.
Through a regular commitment to breathing in this way, you can bring more balance and joy to your life and improve your ability to cope with challenges and stressful situations. If you have previously experienced any form of trauma, it can also support you to overcome this so that it no longer has a strong impact on your physical and emotional wellbeing.
Dr. Judith Kravitz created this type of Breathwork in the 1970s. Practitioners also work with sound, acupressure, and posture to support the optimal flow of the breath and enhance the benefits,
So how does Transformation Breath® actually work?
The main focus is on breathing consciously and with no pauses. Each breath involves the diaphragm and the mouth (rather than the nose). There’s no need to control the out-breath and this should be released naturally.
It’s a gentle but hugely effective way to use the full potential of the breath and provides the tools to work with your breath whenever you need to. Life will always feel stressful from time to time but with this type of breathwork in your toolkit, you can feel more resilient and better able to cope.
Holotropic Breathwork is another way to explore the self and empower yourself to trust your inner wisdom. You can gain a brand new understanding of yourself by using the techniques and it’s often likened to a “next level” intensity meditation that opens the door to this possibility.
Using the breath to support inner healing is the main focus of this type of breathwork. It’s often performed in group settings with a trained practitioner but may also be done on a 1:1 basis.
It’s a combination of controlled quick breathing techniques and music, which enables you to enter a state of consciousness.
Holotropic Breathwork was devised in the 1970s by psychiatrists Stanislav and Christina Grof. They were looking for a way to alter states of consciousness without the need for drugs, which could then be used as a therapeutic tool. The aim was to encourage a psychedelic therapeutic state without the aid of LSD and other mind-altering drugs.
During the heightened state of awareness that can be achieved during Holotropic Breathwork sessions, trauma can reveal itself. It’s believed that trauma will only come to the fore if it needs to be addressed for healing to take place and it won’t always present itself.
Holotropic comes from the Greek words for whole (“holos”) and to move toward or to turn toward (“trepein”) and literally translates as “moving towards wholeness”.
During Holotropic Breathwork, practitioners don’t tell you what to focus on. Instead, you’ll discover what to work on as the session progresses. But your facilitator will guide you on the speed of your breathing and you’ll also have a partner (from within the group in many cases) who will ensure you’re safe and supported throughout and to avoid hyperventilation.
