Many people first learning Reiki are taught it can “never cause harm.” And while much truth lives here, it’s not the whole story. Attunements can actually open access to any frequency—light and dark alike.

These initiations themselves remain neutral processes, allowing energy remembrance. The intentions carried within the transmission matter more. Just as darkness disguises itself cleverly as light, sorcerers sometimes pose as healers too.

Thus, it’s naive to blindly accept all attunements as “safe.” The founder’s ethics shape outcomes, for better or worse. Even pure streams risk pollution without wisdom guiding their flow.

Finding Discernment, Not Alarm

Yet don’t be alarmed, especially as a beginner. Simple discernment reveals the most uplifting paths ahead. Ask yourself:

“Do these teachings encourage harm or control?”

If yes, walk away. If not, then continue forward courageously.

Additionally, prepare inwardly before engaging in any energy work. Set intentions to only receive energies of grace. Tend closely to the garden of your motivations, weeding out impurities that cloud perception.

Commit to uplift all beings. This inner purification allows only light to shine through you as an instrument of spiritual service.

In this way, the highest activations find you attracted to resonance. When we need the most support, angels always answer our prayers.
